Crazy Summer

It has been a really crazy summer already.  Lots of stuff going on.  Last week we were looking at the calendar and realized that there was going to be a 24 day whirlwind!  That whirlwind started Monday with Clay and the girls heading down to Camp Joy in Lynchburg for camp.  I have gone down to cook but decided that I would drive back and forth....Abby, Sweetpea, and Toodles have greatly appreciated me coming home!  Abby crawled up in my lap last night for some loving~ she forgets that she is 90lbs and not a PUPPY!  But she see the cats in my lap and she thinks it is ok for her too!  So stay tuned for more updates on the 24 day whirlwind.....Crazy Summer!!!  But would not have it anyother way!!!! LOVING MY LIFE!

120 days Away!

In 120 days, I will do my first 1/2 marathon!  I signed up for the Murfreesboro Middle Half before it sold out.  I am very excited!  I have started mapping out the training schedule.  It is very interesting, one of the articles that I have read said that before starting the training you should be walking an average of 5 miles per week about two months prior.  PER WEEK! ~CHECK!

One thing that will have to happen in the next week~ NEW SHOES!!!!! I had hoped that I would get 300 miles out of these shoes.  I am at 262.  I read a great article about shoes today~ NEVER thought about this...but it said that it was a great idea to purchase two or three of the same pair and to rotate, never wearing the same pair two days in a row.  Well, Fleet Feet might be really HAPPY with me over the next few weeks!
These have been my best friends!!!

No Holes YET~GWYNNE!!!

OK, maybe pretty close! Might just have to see if I can make a hole!  :)

14 days

I got an email last night, wondering where I was?
Sometimes you feel like you are flying by the seat of your pants......
It seems in this house over the last 14 days, we have been hanging on by our fins......
Since the 31st of May the girls have swam 60+ miles and that is a guess.  They have been getting up at 5am to make the drive to swim practice.  Three days a week there are doubles and they had made those with the expection of two.  I am blown away with their dedication and devotion to their sport.  Needless to say...the kitchen, the dishwasher, and the vehicles have gotten a fair share of a workout too!  And Netflix too.  And amazingly enough they have been reading.....
Katherine said the other day~ when I go to bed it is light outside~ when I get up it is dark outside~ Mom there is something very backwards about that!  HA got to love her humor and the fact that she has a sense of humor at 5am!
Funny thing is~ and you HAVE to love this!~ They have been given ORDERS to eat twice as much and to take naps!
Well, it is almost 4pm so, as the dishwasher is taking care of breakfast and lunch dishes, it is time to get dinner started......so fear not....we are alive and well, just a little crazy! BUT this is what we call summer fun!
SPLASH! SPLASH!

God Blessed the Broken Road

20 years ago today, Clay and I committed our lives to each other in front of our family, friends, and God.
In those 20 years, we have seen each other thru everything.  Things that words seem to small to truly express.  Looking back on our 20 years together, we know God had a huge plan to bring us together, bigger than we could have ever imagined.  On our anniversary, there is one thing that we are most proud~ as we have grown as an earthly family, our family has grown in His word and thru His word.  As bonded as our family is on this earth , we know that we are bonded for eternity with God thru His plan!
This morning on my walk this song came on my ipod.  Now I have heard this song a million times and I love this song but today it spoke to me in a totally different way!  And I am so grateful for the broken road that was a part of His grander plan!
I set out on a narrow way, many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you

Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
Yes He did

I think about the years I spent, just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost, and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You've been there, you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true
